5 Things You Should Know Before the Show
If you’ve been around Hometown Jams for a while, there’s a good chance you’ve heard the name Niko Moon before.
And if you’ve ever found yourself yelling the words to “GOOD TIME” with your friends, there’s an even better chance you already know at least one of his songs.
On September 19, Niko Moon is coming back to Northwest Indiana, this time taking the stage at Bulldog Park in Crown Point as part of his Back To My Roots Tour.
Whether you’ve been a fan for years or only know him from “GOOD TIME,” here are five things worth knowing before you head to the show.
1. You probably know more Niko Moon songs than you realize.
Let’s start with the obvious one: “GOOD TIME.”
The triple-Platinum hit became Niko Moon’s signature song and pretty much launched his solo career. But if that’s the only Niko Moon song on your playlist, you’ve got some catching up to do.
His music has a way of sneaking into your life because it’s hard to put it in just one box. There’s country, pop, hip-hop, R&B and a whole lot of Southern flavor mixed together.
Some songs are made for a back porch. Some are made for a road trip. And some are very clearly made for a crowd of people holding a drink in the air and yelling the chorus back at him.
Before Crown Point, give yourself a little Niko Moon crash course with “GOOD TIME,” “PARADISE TO ME,” “NO SAD SONGS,” “COASTIN’,” “EASY TONIGHT” and some of his newer songs like “RICH MAN” and “GET COUNTRY.”
Basically: if it makes you want to roll the windows down, you’re probably doing it right.
2. He was writing hits long before he was the one singing them.
This is one of those Niko Moon facts that makes you go, “Wait… THAT was him too?”
Before becoming a solo artist, Moon built a serious resume as a songwriter and producer. He became a longtime collaborator with fellow Georgia musician Zac Brown and has songwriting credits on several Zac Brown Band hits, including “Homegrown,” “Loving You Easy,” “Beautiful Drug,” “Keep Me in Mind” and “Heavy Is the Head.”
He also co-wrote “Back to Life” for Rascal Flatts.
So yes, Niko Moon has been behind some very familiar country songs for years. His solo career just gave him a chance to step out from behind the scenes and put his own personality front and center.
And honestly, that personality is kind of impossible to miss.
3. Niko Moon doesn’t really do “traditional country” — and that’s the point.
If you’re expecting nothing but straight-up country twang, you might be surprised by a Niko Moon show.
His sound pulls from a pretty wild mix of influences. Country is at the center, but you’ll hear elements of hip-hop, pop, R&B, reggae and Southern music woven into it.
That blend makes a lot of sense when you look at what he grew up listening to. Moon spent his childhood in Georgia and has talked about being influenced by artists ranging from Alan Jackson and Travis Tritt to Outkast and Goodie Mob.
Basically, Niko Moon took all of that, threw it into a blender, added a little sunshine and somehow came out with his own lane.
And that’s a big part of what makes his live shows so fun. You don’t have to be the world’s biggest country music fan to have a good time at a Niko Moon concert.
4. His new album gets a lot more personal.
This is the part of Niko Moon’s story that feels especially interesting heading into this show.
His newest album, ROOTS, was released in July 2026, and it takes a different approach from some of his earlier feel-good, vacation-ready music.
This time, Moon is looking back.
The 15-track album digs into his childhood, his family and the places that shaped him — particularly Georgia, where he moved with his family when he was 10.
One of the standout songs, “AMERICAN DREAMIN’,” tells more of his personal story and the challenges his family faced growing up.
Then there’s “RICH MAN,” which takes the idea of being wealthy and flips it around. For Moon, being “rich” isn’t about money or material things. It’s about his wife, his children and the life they’ve built together.
And don’t worry — he hasn’t abandoned the fun stuff.
ROOTS also gives us “GET COUNTRY,” which Moon describes as the kind of song that’s meant to make you want to put some dirt on your boots and party.

5. He’s back in Northwest Indiana — and this time, we’re going to have a GOOD TIME.
Here’s the part we’re obviously pretty excited about.
Niko Moon is returning to Northwest Indiana with Hometown Jams.
This will be his second time performing in NWI with Hometown Jams, and this time we’re taking over Bulldog Park in Crown Point on September 19.
He’s bringing the Back To My Roots Tour to town, which means fans will get a mix of the songs that made him a household name and the newer music he’s been making since then. The Crown Point date is officially part of his 2026 fall headline tour.
