If you’ve been to a Hometown Jams show at Bulldog Park, you already know Crown Point knows how to put on a night.
But if you’re coming into town for a concert and you’ve never really explored Crown Point before, we’re here to tell you something:
Don’t just come for the show.
Come early. Walk around. Grab dinner. Get a drink. Take a lap around the Square. Then make your way over to Bulldog Park when it’s time to turn the volume up.
That’s the Crown Point way.
Start at the Square
The heart of Crown Point is its historic downtown Square, centered around the Old Lake County Courthouse.
It’s the kind of downtown that’s actually fun to wander around without a plan. You’ll find local shops, restaurants, bars, coffee, and plenty of spots to stop for a drink or a bite before heading to the show.
And yes, the courthouse is absolutely worth a photo.
Our advice? Give yourself some time here.
Don’t pull into Crown Point at 6:45, sprint to the concert, and call it a night. You can do that anywhere.
Where to eat before the show
One of the best parts about having Bulldog Park so close to downtown is that you have options.
Want dinner before the show? You’ve got it.
Want a cocktail? Yep.
Want to sit outside and people-watch for a little while? Also yes.
One spot you’ll find right on the Square is Radius, at 116 N. Main Street.
It’s an easy place to add to your pre-concert plans, especially if you’re already hanging around downtown.
And we’re not saying you need to make a whole itinerary…
But we’re also not not saying that.
Then there’s Bulldog Park
This is where Hometown Jams comes in.
Bulldog Park has become one of our favorite places to bring live music to Crown Point, and if you’ve been to one of our shows here, you know why.
We’ve had artists including Chris Janson, Russell Dickerson, Justin Moore, Ashley McBryde, Gavin Adcock, Elle King, Cooper Alan, Brothers Osborne, Eli Young Band, Lee Brice and Kip Moore take the Bulldog Park stage.
And now we’re adding Niko Moon to the list.
On September 19, we’re bringing the GOOD TIME to Crown Point.
And on September 27, we’ll be back at Bulldog Park with Mitchell Tenpenny.
So if you’re keeping track, yeah…
Crown Point has entered its concert era.
What else should you know about Crown Point?
It’s a great place to make an evening out of a concert.
The Square and Bulldog Park are close enough that you can build your night around both instead of treating the concert like the only thing on the schedule.
Come early.
Explore downtown.
Eat something.
Grab a drink.
Take some pictures.
Meet up with your people.
Then head to Bulldog Park and get ready for the music.
That’s one of the things we love about bringing Hometown Jams to communities like Crown Point.
